There is one. . . and only one, even if it is number 74. The ‘it’ in question is the solitary Audi RS 6 Avant GT that has been allocated from the total build number of 660 to South Africa, where it will go up for auction in Cape Town in November.

This sleek powerhouse will be sold at a live auction event, with a portion of the proceeds set to benefit a deserving charity (though the specifics are being kept hush-hush for now). The auction promises to be a high-stakes affair for car collectors and Audi aficionados alike, as the RS 6 Avant GT isn’t just any car – it's the last of its kind, a farewell to pure internal combustion in the RS 6 line-up.

It might not be the one, but we have Audi RS6 pre-owned models on offer right here

Sascha Sauer, Head of Audi South Africa, says: “The Audi RS 6 Avant GT marks the end of an illustrious era for the famed RS 6 series. The GT is more than just a car; it represents the apex of our engineering excellence and a legacy of which we are immensely proud.”

The RS 6 Avant GT roots can be traced back to the 2020 RS 6 GTO concept, a project crafted by 12 talented Audi apprentices. Taking inspiration from the legendary Audi 90 quattro IMSA GTO race car of the 1980s, these budding engineers created a concept that would influence the final form of the RS 6 Avant GTi.

So, what makes the RS 6 Avant GT so special? Well, apart from its exclusivity, it’s a beast on wheels. The twin turbo-charged V8 engine churns out 463 kW of power and 850 Nm of torque, pushing it from 0 to 100km/h in 3,3 seconds. Keep your foot down, and it’ll hit 200 km/h in just 11,5 seconds, with a top speed of 305 km/h thanks to its RS Dynamic package plus.

The exterior is a show-stopper, with vehicle 74 donning Arkona White paint, accented by Audi Sport’s signature colours – black, grey, and red. Its 22-inch high-gloss white alloy wheels and unique model badges set it apart as a striking vision of speed and style. Inside, expect the luxury of RS bucket seats in a Dinamica microfiber/leather combo with a honeycomb pattern, along with the famed Bang & Olufsen 3D Advanced Sound System boasting 19 speakers and 1,820 watts of pure audio perfection.

Unlike the standard RS 6 Avant, the GT version is not mass-produced. Each of the 660 units is painstakingly assembled by hand at the Böllinger Höfe facility, where Audi’s R8 and e-tron GT models are also crafted. The final assembly involves a dedicated team of seven specialists who spend an entire day on each car, ensuring every detail is flawless, from the aerodynamic double wing to the RS-specific coilover suspension.
