Volvo Car South Africa has just 23 examples of the XC60 Black Edition units for the South African market, each showcasing a striking and sophisticated all-black design.
The Black Edition features a sleek Onyx Black exterior paint finish—a rich metallic hue that gleams brilliantly under bright sunlight and transforms into a solid, profound black in dimmer light—complemented by numerous exclusive black elements. These include a high-gloss black grille and lustrous black 21-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels.

The grille features a blacked-out version of the iconic Swedish ‘iron mark’ logo, while the tailgate's ‘Volvo’ lettering and other badging receive a similar darkened treatment. Inside, the XC60 Black Edition is adorned with charcoal headlining, which harmonises with a choice of interior materials: either charcoal Nappa leather-and-textile upholstery or charcoal ventilated Nappa leather upholstery.

The Black Edition package can be paired with one of two powertrains: the mild-hybrid XC60 B5 AWD (delivering 183 kW and 350 Nm) available in Plus specification, or the plug-in hybrid XC60 Recharge AWD (producing 340 kW and 709 Nm) available in both Plus and Ultimate trims.

Additionally, the plug-in hybrid models benefit from an 8-year warranty specific to the high-voltage battery pack.
