South Africa is the first country outside of China to receive the LDV D90 SUV – although the two flagship models that have arrived are for homologation purposes in anticipation of the public launch later this year.

The bold design of the new LDV D90 is reminiscent of the design elements found in the T60 MAX. A standout feature is the front grille that is complemented by slender LED daytime running lights and large automatic LED headlights.

The LDV Black Package, which is standard on all South African D90 models, includes a range of features such as sleek black door handles, side mirrors and roof rails, accompanied by black wheel arch mouldings. The rear roof spoiler and window trim also receive the same sleek black treatment, and the bold LED light bar that stretches across the D90 joins the rear LED lights.

The Elite and Flagship models of the D90 boast an extensive list of luxury and safety features as standard and hese include front and rear electronic climate control, leather upholstery for all seven seats, dual wireless charging pads with USB ports and a high-resolution 12,3-inch infotainment system that includes built-in Apple and Android smartphone connectivity.

The Flagship model further adds massaging heated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, and a 12-speaker JBL sound system to elevate your listening experience. The wheels of the Flagship are also upgraded to 20-inch diamond cut alloy wheels from the 18-inch gloss black wheels found in the Elite.

The D90 is powered by a 2,0-litre dual turbo-diesel engine that produces 160 kW and 500 Nm of torque and is paired with an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission. All D90 models feature 4x4 with Low Range, while the flagship boasts front and rear differential locks in addition to the Elite's central differential lock, offering a total of three diff locks.

Safety features abound in the D90, including six crash bags, adaptive cruise control, an inbuilt dash cam, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist and electronic stability control. The Flagship model offers additional features, such as a 360-degree panoramic view camera system.

The spacious cabin of the D90 provides ample room for seven passengers, with a wheelbase of 2 950 mm and a body-length of 5 046 mm. The D90 can tow a braked trailer of up to 3 100 kg, making it a reliable choice for transporting your belongings.
