Despite growing by only three centimetres in length, the new Tiguan boasts an even bigger luggage compartment at 652 litres ensuring plenty of room for a weekend getaway or the daily commute.

Starting from R651 500 for the base 1.4 TSI model, the Tiguan offers a range of trims to suit different needs and budgets. For those wanting something more luxurious, the Life variant is priced at R702 800, while the sporty R-Line will set you back R766 300.

Volkswagen has given the new Tiguan a design overhaul, without straying too far from its classic look. At the front, a glass-covered bar replaces the traditional grille, flanked by sharp, integrated LED headlights.

With improved aerodynamics – the drag coefficient is now down to 0,28 from 0,33 – the Tiguan is more efficient, while the 20-inch wheels and bold shoulder lines above the wheel arches give it a muscular stance.

Volkswagen has redesigned the interior with premium materials and cutting-edge tech, blurring the lines between luxury and everyday practicality and the centrepiece is the new Digital Cockpit – a 12,9-inch display (upgradeable to 15 inches) that’s intuitive and easy to use.

This system integrates with the latest infotainment features, offering a seamless blend of apps, media and navigation.
