Hispano Suiza is all set to make a comeback at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, showcasing the brand-new Carmen Sagrera. This hypercar is the final piece in the Carmen line-up.

As it celebrates 120 years, Hispano Suiza is gearing up for a strong showing at the Goodwood Festival of Speed where it will have its own stand, welcoming car fans throughout the festival. The new Carmen Sagrera will be making its UK debut and will be presented to the media and VIPs, including The Duke of Richmond, who started the festival. British model, businesswoman and racing driver Jodie Kidd will host the press conference on July 11.

Hispano Suiza will also be part of the famous Goodwood Hillclimb. The Carmen Sagrera, with its 820 kW electric power, will make its first run up the hill, driven by Luis Pérez-Sala. Fans will also get to see the Carmen Boulogne in action as it takes on Goodwood Hill on Thursday while the Sagrera is on display at the stand.

The new model was unveiled in June, marking the company's 120th anniversary, and features the brand's second generation of batteries with an increased capacity of 103 kWh. This new battery, with the latest lithium-ion cells, consists of 15 modules of 24 cells each, totalling 360 cells. Weighing only 612 kg, the battery can operate at a maximum voltage of over 750VDC.

The battery capacity has jumped from 80 kWh to 103 kWh, boosting energy density and extending the driving range by about 100 km, bringing the total range to 480 km according to the WLTP cycle.

Besides the new cells, the Carmen Sagrera has an improved cooling system that's lighter, simpler, and made from more sustainable materials.

The Sagrera features four 205 kW motors, delivering a total power output of 820 kW and 1 160 Nm of torque, with a 0 to 100 km/h time of just 2,6 seconds. The motors are axial-flux permanent magnet and connected in series: two on the left rear wheel and two on the right.

The transmission sends power to the rear axle with a virtual self-locking differential, ensuring top track performance and efficient torque transfer to the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tyres. These tyres, developed with Michelin's technical centre, boast a unique design inspired by storks and mosaics of legendary Spanish architect Antoni Gaudí.

The Sagrera's suspension system, designed from extensive dynamic simulations, delivers racing-level performance. Both axles feature a deformable parallelogram suspension with adjustable shock absorbers for compression and extension settings, along with coil springs adjustable in hardness and height. This setup is complemented by an anti-roll bar linking both sides.

Hispano Suiza's engineers have created lightweight suspension wishbones and axle shafts from a special military-grade material, which is up to eight times stronger than conventional steel. Aerospace and racing-grade bolts ensure secure fastening.

Redesigned front bonnet vents enhance both looks and function, flowing seamlessly with the rear vents. New side sills rise elegantly along the car's profile, complementing the rear panel.

The rear end features major design and aerodynamic upgrades, including a large spoiler that resembles stork wings, a nod to the brand's logo. This spoiler, split into two parts, optimises the wing's aerodynamic shape. The solid-painted side panels blend subtly with the rest of the exposed carbon wing.

The car is equipped with 400 mm carboceramic discs on both axles, capable of withstanding intense braking demands and extended runs without fatigue. Enhanced cooling improves the system's performance, allowing it to operate at temperatures up to 1 000 degrees Celsius.
