It is Shogun time for the Mitsubishi Triton double cab and the limited edition run sees a number of aesthetic touches added to the offroader.

Jeffrey Allison, general manager: Marketing at Mitsubishi Motors South Africa (MMSA), explains: “The Triton remains a top seller for Mitsubishi in South Africa with buyers continually attracted to its unique styling, excellent performance and pedigree that has been honed in the world of motor sport along with legendary off-road capability, all characteristics that are now highlighted by the unique Shogun touches.”

The Mitsubishi Shogun version builds on the Triton 4x4 Automatic and features a black front bumper garnish, headlight covers, and matte black front fog light covers. The roof rails also sport a dark finish, complementing the Shogun sports bar above the load bin, which includes a tonneau cover and tailgate lock.

Matte black covers adorn the rear lights, and a standard tow bar enhances utility, with a matching nudge bar as an optional addition.

Inside, the Triton Shogun gets a leather steering wheel, parking brake, and floor console accented with black and red stitching. The leather seats and door trim also receive red leather stitching.

It sits on Dunlop A/T 265/60R18 all-terrain tires on black alloy wheels.

Under the hood, the Triton Shogun keeps Mitsubishi’s 2,4-litre DOHC MIVEC diesel engine, producing 133 kW at 3 500 r/min and 430 Nm at 2 500 r/min, driving through a six-speed automatic transmission equipped with Intelligent Shift Control.
